Black Gospel Music
Originated during slavery (1620 - 1863) while slaves worked the fields they sang lamentation know as Negro spirituals. After slavery the black community still being oppressed kept on singing the songs of there ancestors. This music has developed into various styles of gospel we know today. Essential performs the contemporary style also known as the traditional style. |
Biography
Starting as a youth choir that consisted of only girls we've grown in to a gospel choir of more than 30 members. Under direction of our leader Leo Davelaar, also our musical director, we are successfully performing Black Gospel music. Performances are accompanied by band or with soundtracks. You have to see us performing the Black Gospel music. |
